Second Train Petition tabled in Parliament

Our second train petition presentation on Tuesday 17 July at Parliament House was a proud moment and a true milestone in our campaign to restore the 6:15pm Shepparton weekday service running express between Broadmeadows and Seymour.

All made the special effort to attend despite the freezing and stormy weather - Mr Terry Mulder, Hon Wendy Lovell, Mrs Jeanette Powell and Dr Bill Sykes. We truly appreciated their words of support and their ongoing support for our cause.

The petition was tabled in Parliament by Mr Mulder on Thursday 19 July with an official count of 1319 signatures.

Surely the Premier and Public Transport Minister Lynne Kosky can no longer ignore the strident protests of over 2300 of their voting and taxpaying public, demanding that this wrong imposed on country people be righted.

With sincere thanks from Mary and Bev to every single person who signed the petition and especially to those who helped to gather signatures

Do you understand they only reason the lib's support you is because they are trying to win control?

Further more, do you realise that there is more services then just yours. The same train doesn't always run that tabled service. You can't just demand a service cause its good for some of you. all train services effect other services but if your too selfish to see the large picture instead of what you want then you deserve no trains at all.

Dear anonymous

Thanks very much for your feedback.

We honestly believe that we are representing the wishes of the majority of long distance travellers using the north eastern corridor.

We have spoken to thousands of travellers, mostly on the Shepparton train but also some on the Albury train. The vast majority want the old timetable restored as evidenced by over 2300 signatures tabled in parliament.

We are not asking for anything new, just that the old timetable be restored.

Kind regards

Yes but that new timetable doesn't just effect your line, it effects an entire network, including suburban trains.
